DAAD In-Country/In-Region Graduates and Postdocs Funding
The programme aims at fostering strong, internationally oriented higher education systems in Sub-Saharan Africa with the capacity to contribute to sustainable development. As part of the In-Country/In-Region Scholarship Programme DAAD offers scholarships for PhD and Master Studies.
PhD scholarships: Materials science and engineering and in additive manufacturing
Four PhD scholarships are available now within the School of Mechanical and Mining Engineering. The successful applicants will work on two Australian Research Council (ARC) funded Discovery Projects. One is one high entropy alloys and another is on additive manufacturing of metals.

Call for Research Proposals: Genomic Research Approach for Diversity and Optimising Therapeutics - Project Africa GRADIENT
Project Africa GRADIENT (Genomic Research Approach for Diversity and Optimising Therapeutics) was initiated in 2018 as a collaboration between GSK and Novartis. The primary aim was to establish a consortium to collaborate with expert academic centers and organisations in Africa to support high quality research on African genetic diversity of relevance to drug therapeutics.
Solar and Wind Energy Projects Grant
EKOenergy seeks project proposals to provide funding for solar and wind energy projects in developing countries. The funding will be made available to renewable electricity projects aimed at alleviating energy poverty. All projects are managed by experienced organizations and are implemented in cooperation with local NGOs. EKOenergy will support 6-8 new projects of €15 thousand to €35 thousand each.

The Willy Brandt Small Research Grants are short-term scholarships that are primarily intended to enable young scientists to complete an ongoing research project. Projects are funded that deal directly with the work or legacy of Willy Brandt, or with a chapter in contemporary history that is linked to Brandt's name and political life. The foundation awards up to two Small Research Grants per year.

PhD in Astrophysics
International Max-Planck Research School (IMPRS) on Astrophysics is offering about 25 PhD positions for research topics in various fields of astrophysics with in the IMPRS program at Ludwig-Maximilians University (LMU). Generally, students are admitted for the IMPRS on Astrophysics Graduate School once a year.
Research Fellowships
Fellowships and Junior Fellowships are normally awarded for the academic year (September 13, 2021, to May 13, 2022). During this time, recipients are expected to be in residence at Dumbarton Oaks and to devote full time to their study projects without undertaking any other major activities. Awards may also be made for a single term (either September 13, 2021, to January 7, 2021, or January 24 to May 13, 2022).

The Herman Frasch Fund for Chemical Research is a trust created under the will of Elizabeth Blee Frasch, administered by Bank of America, N.A. as Trustee. The American Chemical Society advises the Trustee on the Frasch program. The purpose of the Foundation is to award grants to nonprofit incorporated institutions to support research in the field of agricultural chemistry which will be of practical benefit to the agricultural development of the United States.
Henry Primakoff Award for Early-Career Particle Physics
The purpose of this award is to recognize outstanding contributions made by physicists who are just beginning their careers and to help promote the careers of exceptionally promising young physicists. The prize is given annually and will consist of $3,000 and a certificate citing the contributions of the recipient, plus an allowance for travel to an APS meeting to receive the award and deliver an invited lecture.
